It all started with tie-dye…
The year was 2003 and I (Phil Lanier) was running a pretty successful web design company. It was growing fast and the clients kept on coming. Pretty soon I needed a pretty large office space to house me and my employees. Along with that office space came a 20’x20’ storage garage. One day my brother came to me asking about using the space to make some tie-dye for a hot springs he liked to hang around. We had done some pretty epic home tie-dye back in the day and I thought it could be a fun project for me and my son (Jerry Lanier) to work together on. So we set up shop.
To make a long story short, our stuff was good. Like real good. So good that Nordstrom picked us up and pretty soon we had a full-on production facility in the storage garage. As we continued to gain steam we moved a salesman from the web company over to help get our name out there. The problem was, he didn’t know anything about apparel so when he sold the University of Utah on a massive screen printing project we were in a real spot. We knew nothing about printing and certainly didn’t have the equipment for it.
That’s when we got our first press. A little 4-color manual press and a flash dryer that we equipped with some wheels from an office chair so we could move it around the space. It didn’t take long for us to stumble into more and more contracts and eventually, we outgrew our small space so naturally we took it to the next level… the mall. After a couple of years of trying and ultimately failing to grow the business, we ended up back where we started, with that same small 4-color press but this time in our basement. We tore out a bathroom to make a darkroom and ripped out all the carpet after we ruined it with ink. We had a love screen printing that wouldn’t allow us to give up. So we just kept going, learning from our past failings and eventually outgrowing our basement.
In 2009, we moved into a little shop where we printed anything and everything we could get our hands on. We survived on ramen noodles for breakfast lunch and dinner and we all moved into a small house together to save money on bills. In 2012 we finally outgrew our little shop and moved production into our current facility. Through the years as we continued to grow we expanded into the spaces next to us to make way for larger presses and more embroidery machines. Now in 2025, we are officially expanding again but this time to Denver, Colorado where Jerry lives with his wife and two daughters.
For over 20 years we have been entrusted with literally thousands of company brands including Disney, WWE, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, University of Utah, Snoop Dawg, and so many more. We have handled hundreds of millions of dollars in merchandise helping companies reach their brand potential and tell their story. The question is… will yours be next?
